What does that mean to me?
All electricians are part of Local Union 613 and
have gone through one of two types of training
programs.
| 1) |
The Apprenticeship Program
This is a 5
year program that is offered at no cost to the
apprentice except for the cost of books . No
experience is required to start the program.
The pay starts at $11.25 per hour for a first
year apprentice and goes to $19.00 per hour
for a 5th year apprentice. |
| |
| 2) |
The Construction Wireman/Construction
Electrician Program
This program is designed for people who
have electrical experience. It allows a person
with experience to begin training according
to the level of their electrical experience
without having to go back to a 1st year apprentice
scale. This program is offered free
of charge except for the cost of books. There
are 8 levels of the CW/CE program, CW 1 - 4
and CE 5 - 8 with pay ranging from $10.00
per hour for CW1 to $19.00 per hour for CE8.
A written test is required to start this program.
This test will show the level of experience
which will determine the level of entry
into the program. School is not a requirement
for this program. However, in order to move
up the pay scale, you must have classroom
hours as well as on-the- job training hours. |
BBH also offers a program for Traffic Signal
Technicians. If you have experience in the traffic
signal field, we have an opportunity for you here
at BBH. We have an agreement with Local Union
613 designed specifically for traffic signal work.
There are 4 levels of classification depending on
your experience in the area of traffic signal work.
| Groundman (no experience needed) |
$10.75 |
| Repairman |
$13.50 |
| Installer |
$16.75 |
| Technician |
$25.40 |
|
There is no formal classroom training for this
program but at some point, you will be required
to go through Level 1 and Level 2 traffic signal
training. A CDL License is also a requirement for
employment under this agreement (excluding
Groundman).
BBH also offers positions in other fields such
as qualified mechanics, material and equipment
delivery personnel, laborers, and qualified
